Notebook sizes - there are so many! Finding the perfect size can be like looking for a needle in a haystack. We've broken down the different brands' sizes and linked them to standard sizes like A5, A6, etc.

A5 is the most common size. It corresponds to a regular copy paper folded in half.
A4 is the largest and is the format of copy paper.
A6 is a very small format and corresponds to folding the copy paper twice.
B5 is slightly larger than A5.
B6 is slightly larger than A6.
A7 is the smallest format.

About Notebook size

A5 & M & L & Maxi

A5 & M & L & Maxi are closely related formats of various notebooks in our range. Format A5 is about a standard format that is 148 x 210 mm. Think of a regular copy paper, it's half the paper.

Among notebooks, it usually distinguishes a few millimeters in width or height but falls under that classification. Some use A5+, which has an approximate format of 155 x 215 mm.

The various brands are really good at producing notebooks under other names in different formats and with different formats. In this context, we then have the sizes M and L and these are notebooks from Nuuna. M stands for Medium with dimensions 135 x 200 mm and L stands for Large with 165 x 220 mm. Because finally Paperblanks which has a format with Maxi which has the dimensions 135 x 210 mm.

Differences A5 & M & L & Maxi:

135 x 200 mm = M (Medium Nuuna)

135 x 210 mm = Maxi (Paperblanks)

148 x 210 mm = A5 (e.g. Leuchtturm1917)

155 x 215 mm = A5+ (eg Dingbats)

165 × 220 mm = L (Large Nuuna = Graphic L)

B5 & Ultra

Format B5 is about a standard format that is 176 x 250 mm. Compare with size A5 148 x 210 mm and you will see that it is a few centimeters larger in both height and width. Simply an in-between when you want a larger book than classic A5 but not as big as an A4.

Ultra is a format among Paperblank's notebooks and has the format 180 x 230 mm. With us you will find notebooks in this format as unlined and lined.

Differences B5 & Ultra:

148 x 210 mm = A5

176 x 250 mm = B5

180 x 230 mm = Ultra (Paperblanks)

B6 & Midi

Format B6 is about a standard format that is 125 x 176 mm. Compare with size A6 105 x 148 mm and you will see that it is a few centimeters larger in both height and width. Simply an in-between when you want a larger book than a small A6 but not as big as a regular A5.

Midi is a format among Paperblank's notebooks and has the format 130 x 180 mm. With us you will find notebooks in this format as unlined, lined and dotted.

Differences B6 and Midi

125 x 176 mm = B6 (Leuchtturm1917)

130 x 180 mm = Midi

A4 & Large

Format A4 is about a standard format that is 210 x 297 mm and is a traditional format for, for example, notebooks and copy paper etc.

Among notebooks, it usually appears that they are in an A4+ format, that you can fit a normal A4 sheet in a book. They are thus often somewhat larger than A4, but the classification of formats ends up in A4.

Paperblank notebooks use different names for the size of their books. Paperblanks Grande is their largest format, 210 x 300 mm.

Differences A4 & Grande:

A4 dimensions: 210 x 297 mm,

A4+ approx. 215 x 300 and

Large 210 x 300 mm.

It distinguishes a few millimeters in height and width.

A6 & S & Mini

Format A6 is about a standard format that is 105 x 148 mm. Think of a regular copy paper and you fold it 2 times, a quarter of that paper. These are small flexible notebooks. S is a format of notebooks from Nuuna. Mini is a format of notebooks from Paperblanks. It usually distinguishes a few millimeters in width or height but falls under that classification.
