How do I get even ink coverage on the stamp? Stamps are often used with ink pads. Many people place the ink pad on the table and press the stamp against it (or vice versa). The problem is that this results in uneven pressure, and often both too much and too little ink – at the same time – on the stamp.

A better method is what we call the "clapping hands" method. Hold the ink pad in one hand and the stamp in the other. Clap them together (like when you clap your hands). This distributes the ink more evenly without applying a force of 100 kilos that presses ink deep into crevices.
