Liquitex

Liquitex is a company founded by color chemist Henry Levison in 1955. He was experimenting with new formulas for acrylic paints. At the beginning of the 20th century, acrylic paints were solvent-based artists' paints. By 1955, Henry had developed a water-based acrylic, the first acrylic gesson, which was then called Liquitex, the perfect blend of fluidity and texture.
