Tidformera - your dedicated online toy store
This year's Christmas gift is "adult toys". HUI Research says so. The media repeats it. And if our shop doesn't qualify? Then who the hell knows what we actually sell?
HUI justifies it this way: “ The adult toy reflects our times because turbulence and economic uncertainty create a need for play and escape from reality, something that toys and childhood nostalgia make possible .”
Yes, thank you. Here, for almost 9 years, we have built up a range of thousands of stickers and decorative tapes. We have customer meetings where adult women sit in a circle and stick stickers in notebooks. ✌😁
Our purchases for the store are based largely on goosebump levels. Yes, that's our official purchasing method. So here's a compote of tips! Both on the theme of adult toys and goosebump levels.
If it's not adult toys, then nothing is. We wish you a wonderful, playful and creative Christmas!
Now some concrete Christmas gift ideas!
Pouring – Painting without being able to paint (AKA Chaos Art)
Are you one of us who gets performance anxiety just by looking at a paintbrush? Perfect. Then Pouring is your new best friend. Add it to your wishlist or give it to someone with similar troubles.
This is the technique where you literally pour paint onto the canvas. Chance does the rest, and it's basically impossible to fail at first. The result? Always something like: “Oh, whoops, oh oh oh, wow!”
It's relaxing, meditative and above all addictive. Tip! Search for tutorials, extremely hypnotizing and you'll be itching to try it yourself. The new hobby will be watching paint dry. And it's actually not ironic, it IS genuinely fascinating.
The Book About You - Give away their own memories
An idea we've been dreaming about for a few years. You give away a notebook where you've written personal questions addressed to the recipient. Their book, with their memories and for their eyes.
Takes 20 minutes to do. Means everything to get. You look like the most caring person of the year. This is not a ready-made “fill-in-the-blank” book with questions like
“What is happiness to you?” No. These are questions from you, to give away a trip down Memory Lane. Fill in with questions like:
- How did you and dad meet?
- Funniest vacation?
- Biggest post-shoot among the exes?
- The party that went most off track?
Perfect for: your mom, your best friend, your colleague you actually like, your partner and anyone else who "has everything".
Pro-tip: Make the book messy before you give it away. Smear stickers, apply washi tape, write diagonally. It takes away the performance anxiety and suddenly they dare to write.
Bonus: Throw in some extra stickers and washi tape as a gift too. Then you've taken the whole "Christmas Gift of the Year: Adult Toys" concept and made it personal. Congratulations! You win this Christmas.
Gel Printing - create your own designs and let it trace
Gel printing (or gelli printing if you want to sound artsy) is the technique where you roll out paint on a gel plate, dab around a bit, with fingers, stencils, bubble wrap, leaves, an old spaghetti whisk, anything that leaves marks.
You can build layer upon layer until you either end up with a masterpiece or something that resembles a psychological test. But both count as art, right?
Apply with paper or fabric, peel off. Voilà. Your own print with your own pattern. And yes. You automatically get a new hobby of watching paint dry. That's included.
Dot Painting - Therapy in small dots
Dot painting is extremely meditative. You make dots, lots of dots, in patterns. Most often mandalas, but you can just dot until it looks cool.
The technique: Dip tool in paint → dot. Dip again → dot. Repeat until you either have a work of art or forgot to eat lunch. Both are acceptable results.
The danger? Once you get the hang of it, you start dotting everything. Rocks in the garden, pots, old jars. The risk is that you end up living in an Indian temple/Buddhist retreat/hippie collective. Choose your own aesthetic that suits you.
Perfect for those who like to do something with their hands instead of scrolling. But be warned, you'll get stuck. At first you think, I'll try a mandala. Three hours later you're sitting at dot number 847 and feeling surprisingly good.
Bullet Journal Kit – The Christmas gift for those who want to try to stay organized (but have fun at the same time)
A bullet journal tends to be a hybrid creature. Half calendar, half diary, half art project. It's so chaotic it can be, while somehow bringing order to your life at the same time.
Perfect Christmas gift for those who love lists, color coding and writing “to do” just for the feeling of crossing it off afterwards. Or for those who hate regular calendars.
You can put together a BuJo kit with a book, pens, washi tape, stickers. The recipient then decides whether it will be minimalist and grown-up, or if it will look like a ten-year-old's school diary. Both are correct.
They're analog toys. Pen against paper. No notifications, no apps, no alerts.
Just the opportunity to actually finish a thought.
Bonus! Give it to yourself. You deserve adult toys too.
Irojiten - Colored pencils for those who are into coordinated colors
2025 will probably be the year when Christmas bags are stuffed with coloring books, i.e. this year's Christmas gift of adult toys. And the Irojiten? It's literally pen porn. Perfect pens for coloring books.
The packages look like little encyclopedias. You clap them. When you open them and see the color combinations? Tone-on-tone, perfect order, pure color harmonies, then you get goosebumps. And yes… You keep clapping.
Gansai Tambi - Watercolor paints/gouache that will also make you clap your hands on the packaging
If Irojiten is pen porn, then Gansai Tambi is color porn. Same thing. Packaging that looks like small art collections. Color harmonies that give you goosebumps. You want to clap here too.
The difference? These are watercolors (or gouache, depending on how much water you use). Creamy. A little water → opaque gouache. More water → transparent watercolor. You decide. The colors still do the job.
Perfect for those who want to try painting, those who already paint and those who just want to own beautiful things.
Watercolor block - which brought both a tear and goosebumps
We found these watercolor blocks at a trade show in Germany. We stood there patting the paper, and suddenly both goosebumps and a tear came. We can't claim to be watercolor paper experts. But we trusted our goosebump radar, bought the blocks and tested them.
The result? Magical paper. Paper you want to keep patting.
Deliveries now in time for Christmas?
For almost 9 years we have shipped everything, every weekday (except if something went wrong or we were at a trade show). Should the order intake slow down (which it usually does in December), then we will solve it.
The secret? Who doesn't appreciate a pajama party? We'll keep going with loud music, takeaway pizza and pack-races until everything is gone.
With us there are no shouts about delayed deliveries or that we are behind. We have fun instead. Cake buffet in the package. Packages that fly out. You order, we pack. Crazy fun when the pace is high and the adrenaline is flowing.
We hope that 2025 will be the year that adult toys fly out the door. And most importantly? That many more people will open their eyes to exactly how much fun this all is! It's pure therapy!
