Dot painting - therapy in small dots

Dot painting - terapi i små prickar - Tidformera

Now we have snowballed into dot painting! Note that we are happy amateurs. But an extremely mediative technique! It turns out very beautiful without any special artistic talents. We have acquired a fairly large range of good products for dot painting that are aimed primarily at beginners who want to try it out. Which includes ourselves. We have looked for practical tools that we ourselves used when we did dot painting at a fair.

Over the years, we have watched a lot of videos and have been eager to try. If you google this, you will quickly come across videos where people sketch with pencil, compass and sit with brushes. Many are quickly discouraged from even trying. To get started with this, we recommend that you practice on small plates (to be primed) with stencils. In true Tidformera spirit, we can't sit with stencils and pens, but instead we took stencils, blending brush and stamp pad to quickly create a pattern that you can fill in with colors.

Then you can start dotting. To help with this part, acrylic sticks and sticks with metal tips are really good. Most often an acrylic paint is used, note that it must be a little loose in consistency because otherwise the paint will be very lumpy. Can be diluted with water or a pouring medium.

Every time you have made a dot, you should fill the tool with color again. Then the dots will be the same size. This is really mediative! Repetitive movement that results in a beautiful pattern. Brain capacity goes into thinking about which colors to use. Balm for a messy soul that needs to relax!

To practice this technique and then take the step to make large paintings, on stones in the garden, vases, pots. A wonderful way to decorate personally!
