The paint contains the ultramarine pigment PB29 and phthalocyanine blue, which gives a stronger blue hue than traditional Ultramarine Blue Classic. It is transparent and has medium color strength. In thin layers, the paint allows underlying colors to show through and is therefore suitable for glazing. Ultramarine Blue Modern can be mixed with red colors to create violet shades or with earth colors to bring out muted blue and gray tones.
